Global search
Global search lets you quickly find anything in Navigator without knowing exactly where it lives. Type a name, NDIS number, invoice reference, or ABN and jump straight to what you need.
What you can search for
Search is always available at the top of the left sidebar, regardless of your role or permissions. It covers six types of records:
| Record type | Searchable fields |
|---|---|
| Customers | Given name, family name, preferred name, email, phone numbers, NDIS number |
| Contacts | Name, email, phone number |
| Suppliers | Business name, ABN, email |
| Invoices | Customer name, supplier name, invoice reference |
| Emails | Subject, sender name, sender email |
| Users | Name, email |
Results are ranked by relevance. Search is not case-sensitive and supports partial matches.
Tips for better results
- Partial names work — searching "Mar" returns "Maria", "Mark", "Margaret"
- NDIS numbers — one of the fastest ways to pull up a participant's record
- Invoice references — find a specific invoice without browsing the list
- ABN search — useful when a supplier contacts you and you need to confirm they're in the system
- Email subjects — if you remember a subject but can't find an email in the inbox, search for it here
Limitations
- Email address required — customers and contacts without an email address on file won't appear in search results. If you can't find someone, check whether their record has an email set.
- Account-scoped — search only returns results from your current account.
- Not full-text — search matches specific fields, not all text in a record. Searching for a word in an invoice note won't return that invoice.
