Reprocessing a task
When Navigator receives an invoice document, it runs it through an OCR and AI extraction process. Occasionally this fails — and the task is set to Error status. Reprocessing lets an administrator restart that extraction.
When to use reprocessing
- The task has Error status and there is an attached invoice file
- The original OCR extraction failed
- You want to re-run AI extraction after something has changed (e.g. extraction rules updated)
If a task is in Error status but has no attached file, reprocessing won't help — something else is wrong.
Who can reprocess
Administrator-only action. The Reprocess button only appears if you have account admin permissions, the task has an attached file, and there's a failed extraction job.
If you need a task reprocessed and don't have admin access, ask your account administrator.
What happens when you reprocess
- Creates a fresh extraction job for the attached file
- Removes the link to the old failed job
- Resets the task status to Draft
- Queues the new job
- Re-runs the full extraction using all available AI models
The previous extraction's data is preserved in task history — not deleted.
What to expect after reprocessing
After clicking Reprocess, the task will show Draft status while the new extraction runs. Once complete:
- Task moves to Pending
- Invoice form is populated with newly extracted data
- You can review and action as normal
If the task returns to Error again, the file itself may be the problem — check it's valid, readable, not password-protected. You may need to contact the supplier for a clean copy.
