Sending emails & templates
Navigator lets you compose and send emails directly from the platform. All outgoing emails are tracked and linked to the relevant records, keeping everything in one place.
Composing and sending emails
You can compose from within Navigator at any time, or reply to an existing email from the inbox or a task. Set the recipient (To, Cc, Bcc), subject, body, and attach files if needed.
Sent emails appear in your Outbox — switch to the Outbox view in the inbox to see what's been sent.
The sender address
All emails from Navigator go from a single account-level sender address — not from your individual email. Configured in account settings under Sender email. This keeps your communications consistent across your team.
Replying to emails
Replies can be sent from the inbox thread view or directly from a linked task. When you reply, the reply is automatically threaded into the existing conversation. Replies go from the account sender address; reply-to is set to the original sender so responses route correctly.
Email signature
A single signature is configured at the account level and appended automatically to all outgoing emails. Set under Settings → Content & signatures. You don't add it yourself each time.
Email templates
Templates let you save and reuse standard email content for communications you send regularly. A template has three parts:
- Name — internal identifier
- Subject — pre-filled subject line (can include placeholders)
- Body — email content (can include placeholders)
When composing, select a template and the subject and body are pre-filled. Edit before sending if needed.
Managing templates
Templates are created, edited, and deleted under Settings → Templates. You need email_template.create and email_template.update permissions to manage templates. See Email templates for a full guide.
